Danielle M. Davis MSN, RN, CNOR
Danielle Davis is a heart-centered nurse leader and nurse advocate with 20+ years in healthcare, including the last 10 in a leadership role.
Throughout her career, as with most caregivers, Danielle often sacrificed her own well-being in the pursuit of bringing comfort to others. When she transitioned into leadership, she worked diligently to turn that culture around in her departments. She observed that despite the implementation of various stress reduction techniques, traditional EAP support and organizational introduction of programs such as Team STEPPS, staff continued to struggle with the concepts of self-care and self-compassion. She also realized that despite all the training that caregivers receive through formalized schooling and certification programs, the one thing they are never taught is how to take care of themselves. And yet this, above all else, is the most critical thing a caregiver can do to flourish in their careers as well as their lives outside of work.
In January of 2020 Danielle made the life-changing decision to step away from her traditional career and, in doing so, shifted into the role that is her life’s passion. She now focuses all her time and effort on building the concept of Heart-Centered Nursing. By doing so she is able to devote more energy to what she loved most about her career: mentoring caregivers in their professional and personal growth and helping them learn ways to bring self-care, self-empowerment, work life balance and joy into their lives and into their practice.
Danielle hopes to spread the concept of Heart-Centered Nursing to all of those who devote themselves to the care of others. She wants to help enable them to be wholly present for those in their care, by making sure they take care of themselves first in physically, mentally and spiritually nourishing ways. It is Danielle’s mission in life to bring this innovative approach of Heart-Centered Nursing to caregivers across the globe.
